I realized my last entry might imply that I take politics too seriously.

Buuuuuut I don't.

I cried when I heard that Ted Kennedy died. I never thought I'd cry over a politician. I feel very jaded about most of them, that they all become self-serving and lazy given enough time in office. But not Ted Kennedy. He's leaving a huge void behind him, and I wish I could believe that it would ever be filled.

This is the part where I vent about computer stuff for ten minutes when no one who reads this knows or cares what I'm talking about.

Apple, it's over. It was good while it lasted, but today I realized you're just a dick. )

Oh, and my new keyboard is in fact a slab of metal with flimsy white keys slapped on top. Apple, dude, the minimalist thing only works when it's not ugly and unwieldy.

QQ.

I have a journal?

The police are coming to my house this morning to talk to me about the dog who keeps attacking Carter. (Yesterday she broke her leash and scratched up my leg trying to get to him.) And even though I know I'm in the right and I've never broken a major law before and we're just talking about a dog, for god's sake, it still makes me extremely nervous. Whyyyyyyyyyy.

Herp derp.

It needs to be spring now please.

I've been keeping myself busy with {a} work, {b} procrastination, and {c} WoW. And {d} ferret. I'm getting a bit more freelance work that is mostly product design, which is great, except that it means I have to use that horrible pants-on-head-retarded excuse for a program that should die in a fire, otherwise known as Adobe Illustrator. Bézier curves can burn in hell.

In WoW news, I've basically moved to Wyrmrest Accord, the new RP realm. Going back to Feathermoon for raiding after spending any amount of time there is really jarring. Feathermoon has essentially become a PvE realm. There's no RP anywhere, ever. It makes me very sad.

But I'm really liking WRA, and so I made a roleplayer community website out of love and rainbows Drupal which seems to be working out pretty well so far: http://wyrmrestaccord.net/ Also Mallory created a Draenei guild called Kamil Te Kar which is like what would happen if the Russian mafia existed in Warcraft. It is so great. SO great. It's totally reignited my love for spontaneous RP.

I have the SpyAlert virus. Again. This thing is the bane of my existence.

And that's my update.

LISA AND WILLIAM, Mallory and I are gonna try to go see Coraline next week at the Lyric. Wanna come?

Mal started an open world WoW RP LiveJournal community: http://community.livejournal.com/mylittlekodo/profile

You can play as any race, even non-playable ones like the Broken, and it doesn't matter what server you're from. But we're gonna try to keep the lore somewhat intact, so no playing Arthas or Thrall or time travelers from the fifth dimension. :3

OOC community here: http://community.livejournal.com/mylittlekodo_oo/profile

JOIN UP! It's gonna be fun. :D

Apparently I was given a weekly devArt feature for my Red Rose back in September of last year. I remember getting the notice about it but I didn't know what it meant at the time so I kinda just.. ignored it. And I was looking at my Notes page yesterday and was like "HAY MAL WUT'S DIS." Hurrr durrr, fail.

Anyway, this might be a good time to mention that Mal and I are doing dual commissions. :3 They'll be character commissions in the style of her portrait of Louise except I'll be coloring them and trying not to ruin them with my amateur..ness.

Also: There are only 10 kinds of people in the world. Those who understand binary and those who don't.

Arkham said that to me a few days ago and I was so tickled I had to post it.

Does anyone in Blacksburg own a ferret, or know someone who does? Mallory and I are thinking of getting one, but we're not sure how my dog will respond because he has a tendency to hunt squirrels and other small animals. We wanted to test him out a bit by letting him be near one.

He's usually pretty smart about knowing the difference between wild animals and pets who belong to people, and reacting appropriately, but... well, better safe than sorry.

I finally changed my horrible username.

froglady44 was some generic screenname AOL picked for me when I signed up for my first account with them in like... 1996. Sixth grade.

So now I'm GovernorBaji, username derived from two of my Warcraft characters, which pretty much cements my position as a huge nerd.

...I cannot believe sixth grade was thirteen years ago, jesus christ.

Each time Steve cooks dinner for my family I feel like it's the best dinner I've ever had and this is no exception. Grilled shrimp smothered in charmoula sauce, grilled spiced white mushrooms, chipotle garlic bread, and strawberry salad. These are not things that I would normally find appealing, but SWEET JESUS it was soooooooooo GOOD. Hnnngh. I stole copies of all the recipes.

Also I saw Sara today for the first time in a year and for the last time for a year and it was great and too fleeting and now I'm going into withdrawal.

I love my family, but there is really something to be said for being able to go back to my quiet little condo for the remainder of the evening. Deep down, I am still a mole.

On Friday I leave for SC to spend a day with relatives. Saturday I go to Greensboro to visit Mallory and I'll be there til the following Sunday. Over a week. It's like a big super-awesome Christmas present of greatness.

Which reminds me, one of William's presents to me this year was this:

YEAH.

Honey lemon tea is delicious. I feel like there should be a good use for old teabags.
